WEEK 14: START OF THE WEEK

Chargers D/ST
Los Angeles Chargers vs. New York Giants
The Chargers defense has not performed at a high ranking level this year, but towards the end of their season, the schedule really opens up for them to have some high performing fantasy games. This week, that holds especially true since they will be taking on the New York Giants who currently are on QB number 3 in their lineup, with Daniel Jones dealing with a neck injury and Mike Glennon in concussion protocol. Technically, both have a chance at playing, but whomever is behind center this Sunday will be unable to diminish the Chargers score. If the QB happens to be Jake Fromm, then he would only be a boost towards the Chargers ability to turn the ball over seeing as the Giant’s QB coach, Jerry Schuplinski is inactive, currently being held out due to COVID protocols. This leaves Fromm, who has recorded exactly 0 plays in the NFL, 1 practice week without his positional coach to prepare for this game; talk about the ultimate trial by fire. Regardless of the defense Fromm is facing, this is a horrible situation for the Giants, meaning the Chargers should be able to stack the box and blitz on nearly every play. With their 6 sack performance last week, they have the means to wreak havoc on the inexperienced quarterback. This is all true if Fromm is the starter, but it is possible he does not play. Even if that is the case, the Giants are the 20th ranked team against opposing fantasy defenses, allowing on average 2.2 sacks per game and just under an INT per game as well. Since 2019, Daniel Jones has the second most turnovers in the NFL with 49, behind Jared Goff with 51 who has played 4 more total games. Mike Glennon does not offer any promise for this Giants team either with under 200 yards per game and only 1 TD to 3 INT in 2 games this season. NO matter who lines up under center this week for the Giants, they are likely to be in the holiday spirit towards the Chargers and give away plenty of presents.
