Duke Johnson- Houston Texans RB

As we move into the final portion of the fantasy season, waiver wire pick-ups become less about the quality of the player that’s being acquired and more about what that player provides as a replacement. That is the exact situation that we have for ourselves this week as Texans RB David Johnson suffered a concussion in his Week 9 matchup against the Jaguars and was replaced by Duke Johnson. As of this moment, there has not been any updates on David Johnson’s condition, his status for Week 10 being up in the air, so I believe that Duke Johnson is a must add. He came in as the replacement for David Johnson and saw the majority of the RB snaps. He was involved in the run game as well as the pass game, which is the role he has had up to this point. He had been involved, albeit a small role, even when David Johnson has been healthy, so we know that the Texans can trust Duke Johnson. I think that in the case David Johnson can’t go in Week 10, Duke Johnson is a top-20 option and is worth a high waiver wire priority. Duke Johnson is currently rostered in 16.7% of ESPN leagues.
