AARON’S MOST INTRIGUING MATCHUPS

Los Angeles Rams @ Buffalo Bills

Both of these teams come into Week 3 in very similar situations. Both 2-0, showing effectiveness on both sides of the ball and also proving that they’re worthy of being talked about as a top 3 team in their conference. While the Bills have taken advantage of a weak early schedule, facing the Jets and Dolphins, they have taken care of business and have been extremely impressive on offense. Josh Allen is emerging as an early season dark horse MVP candidate and I'm excited to see what he can do against this bend but don’t break Rams defense which is currently 5th in total points allowed thus far. For the Rams we have truly seen a balanced offensive attack which ranks 3rd in rushing yards and 11th in passing. The two big questions that fantasy managers have for the Rams though are whether or not the Tyler Higbee production is here to stay, and which RB will be the lead back moving on. With Malcolm Brown recovering from surgery on his fractured pinky, even though he is expected to play, how much will we see him and can Darrell Henderson repeat his impressive performance from last week. I'm excited to see what these two teams will bring into an important Week 3 matchup.

Green Bay Packers @ New Orleans Saints

After a disappointing loss to the Raiders on Monday Night Football, the Saints are looking to rebound against a 2-0 Packers team that has looked exceptional. Both teams are going to be without their best WR options in Davante Adams and Michael Thomas, which hurts the overall passing games but just provides more opportunities for breakout options. The Packers will turn to Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard to pick up the slack while the Saints look for production from Emmanuel Sanders and Tre’Quan Smith. In my opinion though, I think we just continue to see an uptick in production from Aaron Jones and Alvin Kamara in the passing game and they have proven to be able to carry the load as they rank 1st and 2nd in half point ppr for RBs respectively. The QB situations could not be more different for these two teams. Aaron Rodgers has looked like he has taken a dip in the fountain of youth and reemerged as a top QB in the league. Drew Brees however looks as if he should have signed his broadcasting contract a year earlier and been in the booth right now. All of that being said, I still believe these are two of the top teams in the NFC and should be a fascinating game.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens

I know it’s only Week 3, but this is going to be the best matchup of the season. This may seem like an exaggeration and I would agree if it weren’t for the circumstances surrounding both of these teams. The Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champions with the 2018 MVP Patrick Mahomes looking to win back the award from the reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Ravens who finished last year with the best record in the NFL. Extremely high expectations individually for both of those players and for their teams as a whole have pushed us towards an impactful early season matchup. I believe that this game will come down to which defense can have the biggest impact on the game. Both of these teams will not be able to score every time they possess the ball, despite it seeming that way sometimes. The differences will have to come of the defensive side and which team can make the most stops. My prediction is that whichever team has the ball last will come out on top and will ultimately be considered the favorites going forward and most importantly, the team that earns the right to represent the AFC in the Superbowl.
