WEEK 16: SIT OF THE WEEK

Darrell Henderson RB

Los Angeles Rams @ Minnesota Vikings

To start this off, I would like to say this article would have been 100% about starting James Robinson if I hadn't just recommended you start him last week. In week 15, Henderson came back after missing the previous 2 games, and it was almost like he wasn't even there. Sony Michel has stolen the number 1 spot in Los Angeles; Michel registered 73% of the team’s offensive snaps while Henderson struggled with only 27%. Over the course of the season, these 2 players' roles were reversed with Michel's highest snap count being 40% in games where Henderson was healthy. The argument could be made that Henderson was on a snap count as a way to ease him back from his injury. However, Henderson was fully on track to play in week 14 before he was placed on the COVID reserve list the Saturday before the game. Over the past 3 games, Michel has been averaging close to 100 yards rushing and 4.7 yards per carry. Henderson very well could have helped you into the playoffs, but in order to win a championship, you must adapt to the ever changing landscape. Henderson has never been one of the premiere backs in the league, and the Rams are clearly going to ride the hot hand in their attempt to steal the division from the sliding Cardinals. At best, this backfield goes to a more even split, but with how prolific Cooper Kupp has been in the passing game, the Rams running attack is basically a formality. I would stay away from Henderson for these last 2 weeks unless something big happens.
