MOST INTRIGUING MATCHUPS- WEEK 8
Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts
In a matchup of division rivals, the Titans and Colts square off in an old school throwback game. Both teams enter as top-8 teams in rushing yards and top-10 in rushing TDs; they basically want to run the football down your throat. Running back Derrick Henry is the #1 overall running back in total points and ppg while Jonathan Taylor is #2 overall and #5 in ppg. These running backs are the main focus of both offenses and are the best fantasy players on both teams. As for the rest of the Titans players, Ryan Tannehill has played like an average quarterback on the year and is producing enough to have fueled consecutive top-24 weeks for A.J. Brown after a slow and injured start. I’m not sure if I have enough faith in an injured Julio Jones to plug him into my starting lineup until I see some on field production. On the other side, Carson Wentz has put together three straight weeks of top-14 quarterback performances and looks to add another one to his streak. Michael Pittman has been the beneficiary of these performances putting together two of his best games on the year which has him looking like a true #1 wide receiver. The Colts started slow, which was to be expected with the injuries they had early in the preseason, but they look like they may be on their way to a .500 record if they can pull out the upset this week.
Dallas Cowboys @ Minnesota Vikings
Since both teams are coming off a bye week, I expect this game to be one of the most exciting and highest scoring games of the week. The Cowboys have a top fantasy player at each position and are one of the more entertaining teams fantasy wise. Dak Prescott has this offense rolling on all cylinders and looks like an unstoppable force, having racked up five straight wins after an opening night loss to the Bucs. Ezekiel Elliot looks like he’s back to his old self and is earning most of his production on the ground, which leaves his upside in the passing game open. CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper have been great fantasy options and with Michael Gallup set to return soon, this offense can become even more explosive. For the Vikings, Kirk Cousins has been a slightly mixed bag of results. He has three top-6 weeks on the season and three performances outside the top-12. Cousins is still a fantasy relevant quarterback every week until proven otherwise. Dalvin Cook still reigns as one of the top-5 running backs in the league when healthy and is a key factor for this offense. Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen are wide receivers #15 and #16 on the season, respectively. Thielen has achieved most of his production in the endzone while Jefferson has achieved his production all over the field. We are truly in for a treat for a Sunday night football game, the first exciting primetime game in a few weeks.
