DFS VALUE PICKS
Nothing normal about this week but let's try to make it as normal as possible. Like always the italicized players are the most expensive in that category and the bold and italicized are different options to pick or possible stacks. We use FanDuel prices and they give us a salary of $60,000 for 9 total spots. Every pick I choose, except quarterback, will fall under $6700. I make this list because these are people who I believe will give you the most bang for your buck. I don’t think these are the only players you should have but they will be good to round out your roster after selecting the more expensive stars. Star players are stars but they are more expensive and everyone is looking to grab those players. The approach you need to take when drafting in DFS is that of Moneyball, who is cheap and will get you the farthest. I try my best to make that possible. This week though i will not be picking any player from the Steelers-Ravens game since that status is currently up in the air.
QB - Derek Carr $7100 (LV vs. ATL)
Kyler Murray $9100
Stack option: Darren Waller TE $7100 He’s the best pass catcher on the team and if Kelce is too expensive for you, Waller has the best chance of going off.
I wrote about Derek Carr earlier in this week, and I stand by it. I believe he will do even more this week with Jacobs status being questionable. If Jacobs is out, they will have to throw the ball more especially against the 32nd ranked defense.
RB - Wayne Gallman $5700 (NYG vs. CIN)
Dalvin Cook $11,000
More expensive option: Kareem Hunt $6600 right at the average price needed Hunt is a very important part of the devastating 1-2 punch in Cleveland going against a bad Jacksonville defense.
Since Gallman became the De Facto starter vs the Eagles, Gallman has scored in every game. He is not very efficient running the ball averaging only 2.9 yards per carry, but every week he seems to get that 1-5 yard TD run. Daniel Jones has been meh to bad this season and hasn’t had much luck scoring through the air at all. What should help Gallman this week is going against the 30th ranked rush defense in Cincinnati. With Joe Burrow out on the offensive side of the ball for the Bengals they really don't have any offense, not like their offense was amazing to begin with. If the Bengals have no offense and the Giants can score even just a little, they will look to run the ball out and finish the game quickly especially fighting for 1st place in possibly the worst division in football history.
WR - Nelson Agholor $5200 (LV vs. ATL)
Tyreek Hill $8600
More expensive option: Justin Jefferson $7000 Adam Theilen could be out this week leaving Jefferson as the number 1 option on a surging Vikings team.
You gotta risk it to get the biscuit. Agholor quietly has 6 TD’s in 10 games this year, a pace of about 10 in a season, aka something Julio Jones has done only once in his whole career. Nelson is putting up a decent season and whenever Derek Carr is feeling himself in a game he likes to throw it deep to this man. I imagine Derek Carr is going to be feeling pretty good going against the pathetic Falcons defense. I believe Agholor will be catching a deep ball this Sunday.
TE - Hunter Henry $5900 (LAC vs. BUF)
Travis Kelce $8000
More Expensive option: Travis Kelce $8000 Man has been TE10 or higher every week besides 1 and TE1 for the past 3 weeks. It’s no argument Kelce is too good to be looked past to be honest.
Henry has become a very solid option for Justin Herbert this year being second in both targets and receptions on the Chargers, behind only Keenan Allen who is on pace for 130 receptions. Henry is 4th this year in targets for TE and 3rd in receptions. He has scored the past 2 weeks and has now become a main target in the redzone for Herbert. If this is the position you are looking to save money on, Henry is a solid option and on the rise currently.
Flex - Salvon Ahmed RB $5800 (MIA vs. NYJ)
Dalvin Cook $11,000
More expensive option: Keenan Allen $8200 He gets the ball thrown to him more than anyone else in the NFL that should be enough to have him on your team.
This one is contingent on a couple things; Myles Gaskin $5600 could be back this week but it is unlikely. If he is then select him. Secondly, Ahmed has missed Wednesday and Thursday practices which leaves him in the questionable category. It looks to be just maintenance and he should be ready to go. If not, then you need to have a pivot ready and should be checking early Sunday morning to see if you can swap at the last second. Every week, minus the bye week, the NFL gives fantasy managers a free space whenever the Jets play a game. I fully believe if a team is facing the Jets, then at least one player from that team should be started and this week it's Salvon Ahmed. He saw 21 carries 2 weeks ago and 12 last week even with sitting out from a shoulder injury. If Gaskin is still out, Ahmed is the back for that team so use him.
Def - LA Rams Vs. SF $4500
Dolphins $5000
More expensive option: Saints $4800 they go against Denver which is the 2nd worst offense in the league and they don't like to move the ball at all.
Who isn’t injured for the 49ers? Jimmy GQ is out and so is everyone else it feels like. Aaron Donald will eat this team alive. I believe the pure fear of that man will lead to turnovers and hopefully those turnovers will turn into 6. This is an easy pick for me since the Rams are fighting for a division title and the 49ers are fighting to make it through the season.
Total Spent (using only value picks): $34,200
AVG Price Per Pick: $5700
Money Remaining: $25,800
AVG. Price left on 3 remaining roster spots: $8600
Flex players you could still afford with this team: Everyone besides Dalvin Cook and CMC. Literally every WR, RB, TE are $8600 or lower besides those 2.
