T.Y. HILTON - WR INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Start Him
As Big Sean famously said, “Last night took and L but tonight I bounced back”. T.Y. Hilton is looking to emulate those words by having a much needed comeback season after his already lackluster season from last year was cut short due to injuries. Indianapolis has a new swagger this year in new QB Philip Rivers. The 17 year veteran also has lots to prove after throwing 20 interceptions last year. Hilton has always had big play ability averaging 15.6 yards per reception in his career and a total of 37 receptions of 40+ yards, with at least 5 catches at such length in 6 of his 8 season career. To go along with big play ability in 118 career games, Hilton averages 8 targets with 4.67 receptions a game.
The week 1 matchup in Jacksonville is a passing dream for the Colts. You can make the case the Jaguars defense was absolutely obliterated last year with huge losses in the names of Calais Campbell, Jalen Ramsey, and A.J. Bouye. Losing both pro bowl corners opens the passing game wide open and losing a top ranked pass rusher gives the already elite colts offensive line an easier job letting Rivers establish himself in the pocket. The Jags replaced these pro bowl players with young and unproven talent but for a week one matchup after what can only be described as a crazy offseason the odds are in the favor of the experienced.
Expect a solid game from both T.Y. and Rivers here against a lackluster Jacksonville team who looks to be trying to secure the Trevor Lawrence in next year’s draft. T.Y. Should be started in at least a flex position week 1. My prediction: 10 Targets, 7 Receptions, 115 Receiving Yards, 1 TD Total Points: 21.0 Pts.
